Creative Director, Margaret Scheffs, carries on the legacy of her grandfather, a master tailor, in recreating the old world quality and craftsmanship that she remembers from her childhood. In her long career, she has designed baby linens for many high profile clients and the babies in their lives: Caroline Kennedy, Vera Wang, Barbara Walters, Julio Iglesias, Nastassja Kinski, Sophia Coppola, and Nicholas Cage, to name a few.

The Baby Sweet’s charming collection of select fabrics and distinctive trimmings come from all over the world – from exclusive Egyptian cottons to traditional textured piqués and ginghams as well as signature batiste embroideries, opulent edgings, and delicate laces.

Proudly made in the USA, all of our bedding and accessories are designed and sewn in our penthouse atelier in New York. Each piece is finished with exacting attention to every detail. With our extensive collection
or with the customer’s own materials, we custom design ensembles as unique and special as the babies that
they are made for.

At The Baby Sweet, we deeply value the preservation of life’s happiest moments. We feel fortunate to design and craft heirlooms that create memories for generations. In that spirit, we give to an organization that truly shares our passion.

As many important decisions do, our choice came through adversity. At age 6, Margaret’s daughter, Amelia, was diagnosed with a rare, pediatric cancer. During her long and difficult fight, Amelia, like all children, had many wishes. The Make-A-Wish Foundation gave her the opportunity to fulfill one of her greatest wishes: a visit to Sea Life Park in Hawaii! Amelia’s visit to Hawaii is an unforgettable gift.
